The representative of the African Development Bank to Angola, Pietro Toigo highlighted the potential of Angola in the production of energy. Pietro Toigo said that Angola has all the conditions to supply energy to countries within the SADC Region. Pietro Toigo announced that his institution has an investment portfolio estimated at 1.5 billion US dollars for Angola.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the United Kingdom Export Credit Agency, Tim Reid announced that his country made available about two billion pounds to projects in Angola. Tim Reid said that the amount is to invested in the areas of health, housing and infrastructure. According to the UK official, the projects will have a major impact in the the country in a short, medium and long term.

The angolan head of state, João Lourenço is to assume this month the rotating presidency of the African Union (AU). The event will take place during the 38th ordinary Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union, set for 15 and 16 february in Addis Ababa. Diplomats serving in Angola are proud for President Joao Lourenço to lead the organization in the next 12 months.

Forecasts from the National Bank of Angola (BNA) indicate that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will record a growth of 3.5% this year. The National Bank points that this growth will happen as a result of several combined factors. According to the governor of the National Bank of Angola, Manuel Tiago Dias, the non-oil sector will be the main contributor to the increase of the GDP, with estimation of 4.24%.
