António José Augusto “Tony Nguxi” was born in Luena, Moxico province on 16 August 1968. He gave his first steps in music when he was 9 and with 16 years old Tony Nguxi entered entirely to the world of music.

Tony Nguxi sings mainly in Tchokwe, his vernacular language from the eastern part of the country, portuguese and English.

In his music, Tony Nguxi brings mainly the different african rhythms and other bits.

Tony Nguxi Who is a defender of african roots uses various styles with stress to Zouk, Jazz, Macopo and tchianda.

According to him, one of his intentions in music is to teach people to recover their cultural and ethnic values.

He revealed to be much more focused in his SADC regional project dubbed Imoshi.
