The angolan government is committed to have the country free from landmines by 2028.
Several demining activities are taking place countrywide with the objectives to provide lands to the population to increase their agricultural productions.
To achieve this goal, the government has been working with national and international Non Governmental Organizations like Apopo, the Halo Trust, Mag, Norwagian People´s Aid and the angolan armed forces.
The spokesperson of the Interministyerial Comission for Demining and Humanitarian Assistance (CNIDAH), Adriano Gonçalves said that the country has recorded great progress in its demining programme.
According to him, they have now a reduction of 94 per cent of contamination of mine fields, adding that the country has now 72 kilometers square of landmine fields.
