Angola may benefit another debt suspension from the World Bank due to Covid-19 pandemic

The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund urged G20 countries to establish the Debt Service Suspension Initiative to the world poorest countries due to the effects of Covid-19 pandemic.

The Debt Suspension Service Initiative is helping countries concentrate their resources on fighting the pandemic and safeguarding the lives and livelihoods of millions of the most vulnerable people.

Economist Hernany Luis considers the initiative as significant for Angola that is battling to diversify its economy.

According to him, the country is facing a very challenging moment because of the Covid-19 pandemic and this initiative from the world Bank would help the country to feel more comfortable in terms of fiscal policy.
