The 2nd International Women’s Forum for Peace and Democracy, held in Luanda between the 9th and 10th of this month, was also marked by a strong cultural component, with performances by musicians, dance groups and national artists who highlighted Angolan identity and artistic heritage.

Throughout the two days of the event, music, dance, and traditional rhythms accompanied the reception of participants and the breaks, providing an atmosphere of celebration of African culture.

The Kina Kumoxi Group welcomed guests with traditional dances, to the sound of the marimba, whistles, and other typical instruments, wearing traditional Angolan costumes.

Madam Mutavati, UN Regional Director for Eastern and Southern Africa, reported that it was an honour to be in Luanda.
