I offer my warmest congratulations to you and the people of Angola as you celebrate 50 years of independence. Over the past half century, Angola has achieved hard-won peace, stability, and economic growth. Your nation now stands as a regional leader, driving prosperity, promoting peace and reconciliation efforts across southern Africa. It is a history your founders would be proud of.

Angola’s rich culture and abundant resources create tremendous opportunities for growth and partnership between our two great nations. The United States is proud to support Angola’s efforts to expand regional trade and economic integration through projects like the Lobito Corridor, which has the potential to unlock new markets and drive prosperity across southern Africa. Our growing collaboration in energy, infrastructure, and private sector investment reflects the ever-growing strength of the U.S.‑Angola relationship. I look forward to building on this progress and working together to achieve even greater success in the years ahead.
