Luanda hosts discussion about concrete proposal peace agreement on conflict in East of DRC

The concrete proposal for a lasting and definitive peace agreement for the conflict in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo, presented by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, as a mediator appointed by the African Union, within the scope of recent working visits to Kigali and Kinshasa, begins to be discussed and negotiated, today, in Luanda, by the ministerial delegations of the DRC and Rwanda.

The 3rd Session of the Ministerial Meeting, within the scope of the Luanda Process, follows the entry into force of the ceasefire between the parties, celebrated on August 4th, in Luanda, under the mediation of Angola.

“Angola, in its role as a mediator, submitted to Rwanda and the DRC a draft peace agreement, which is being considered by both and will begin to be discussed and negotiated between the ministerial delegations of the DRC and Rwanda, as from today, in Luanda”, assured, at the time, in Harare, President João Lourenço.
